Puppy Training Pads by Simple Solution
When we first brought our puppy home my mum gave me a few of her left over things from her puppy's younger days (he's now just over one year old). Among the stash was some food, some treats, a couple of toys and these puppy training pads, which I had never previously heard of or seen before.
These puppy pads are essentially like the inside of a nappy, except square shaped and cover a larger surface area. They are absorbent so when your puppy pees on them it gets absorbed quickly and you don't have a puddle sitting around waiting for you to absentmindedly stand in.
House training a puppy is a time consuming job and we have it almost down to a fine art with ours. He is mostly very good and now only has the occasional accident, but he sleeps in a very cosy bed in the kitchen and he still can't make it through the night without needing to pee. These pads are fantastic, we use one a day and now only for the night/morning time pee before I get down stairs to take him out outside.
They are really easy to tidy up as I just fold them up and throw them into the rubbish. Using newspaper doesn't even compare to using these, they really are so much better.
I can imagine that some people might struggle with these if their puppy decides to chew on them as they would easily be shredded. Luckily my little labradoodle hasn't thought to do this and now he's slightly better trained he only really ever chews his own toys, so I don't worry about him attacking and making a mess with these pads.
These are expensive to buy initially, but I have found them to be such a useful tool that I haven't begrudged paying for them. You can buy these pads in packs of 100 for £29.99 (from Pet's At Home) which works out to be practically nothing a day.
I really like these pads and I think they are very useful to anyone with a puppy, I think that these are well worth five out of five stars.
